The Tycho was a 1,920 ton , 280-foot Steamer sunk by a torpedo launched by UB-40 on the 20th May 1917. The Master and 15 crew were all killed , she lies close to the wreck of the 3216 ton Porthkerry who stopped to pick up survivors and was sunk seven minutes later by the same U- Boat.
