An armed merchantman this 3538-ton 360ft x 47ft cargo steamer, which was built in 1897 was sunk by a single torpedo on 29 March, 1918 by Ub-57. Armed with 4.7in gun on stern and driven by 301hp triple expansion engines was carring 5.600 tons iron ore, on her way from Algeria to Middlesbrough. There were only three saved from crew of 36.
